The Red Chair Project raises the curtain to unveil a new view of arts and culture in Central Florida. It's your ticket to the latest offerings from more than 125 cultural organizations. So get out of your chair and into one of ours.

WHAT IS THE RED CHAIR PROJECT?

The Red Chair Project is a collaboration of over 125 Central Florida arts and cultural organizations to stimulate participation in the arts.

Guidelines for Entry

• First prize: $750 and recognition as the official Red Chair artist, with the winning work accompanying Red Chair promotional events.

• Second prize: $500

• Third prize: $250

Selection: A panel will select 15 artists from all the entries to create a ‘Red Chair’-themed piece. The final work will be displayed and judged at an August 27th Red Chair Project fundraiser at the Bob Carr. The selected artists can display two other pieces and use the opportunity to sell work and market themselves to potential buyers.

Artist requirements: The artist must live within Central Florida. The artist may bring any work to the initial jury. The ‘Red Chair’-themed piece will be limited between 3’x3’x3' and 4’x4’x4'. The two other pieces allowed for display can be of any work within the same size restrictions.

Deadlines: Artist application: July 8. First panel review: July 13.

Selection of 15 artists: July 15. Artwork prepared for Event: August 24

Visit www.orlandoperforms.com to apply or call the organizers of the event, the Central Florida Performing Arts Alliance, at 407.872.2382 for more information.
