Susan Guadagno was born and raised in Essex County, New Jersey. As a young child, she began to develop and nurture her artistic talents by studying art anywhere and everywhere she could. She studied at the New England School of Art, then later graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, with a degree in Advertising. This led to her job as a greeting card illustrator for the prestigious Carol Cards, a leader at the time, in silk screen designs.

Now retired, she lives in Key West, Florida with her husband and daughter. She is currently showing her work exclusively at the Gingerbread square Gallery, Key West's oldest and best known gallery.

"I love working with traditional subject matter, and throwing it back at the viewer with a totally different and unexpected approach. I am lucky enough to live in an extremely stimulating atmosphere, here in Key West, where I can immerse myself in the local colors and flavors of this sub tropical island.
