I am drawn to textures. For me, the textures elicit moods and feelings. These moods and feelings lead to contemplation of my life. The contemplation helps me make sense myself and the world.

Color work affects me differently than the Black/White I initially began photographing. Some scenes just lend themselves to that medium. Themes and feelings and natural beauty can often be expressed more accurately and vividly in color.

I love the moodiness and intensity of B/W photography and feel that it often brings out the true nature of a scene. The play of light and shadow is what draws me to take a photo. I get lost in the moment and want to preserve it forever.
