| Working primarily in clay, wax and raw metals, I create both one of a kind and limited edition works in bronze and other sculptural media. My horses are unique figurative abstractions with a decidedly expressionistic aesthetic. She uses the horse and other symbols to elicit a feeling or mood or to create a story.
I attended the Art Student’s League, High School of Music and Art and Parson's School of Design in New York City, finishing my B.F.A. from Washington University School of Fine Art in St. Louis, Mo. I also studied in San Miguel de Allendé, Mexico, the Loveland Academy of Art, Loveland, CO and Sedona, AZ. My life-long love of horses and involvement with the equestrian community drives her passion to create equine art. My works are not the traditional equine images people expect, I use them as vehicles for concepts, metaphors and more human emotions as noted by Florida Arts reviewer, Laura Stewart. My award-winning fine art, including paintings and sculpture, mixed media and photography, have been exhibited in solo and group shows in museums and galleries. I am listed in “Women Artist's of America II and Who's Who of American Artists 2009. I have exhibited in several solo shows and over 100 group and juried exhibits and her sculptures are in dozens of galleries across the country. Honors include “Award of Excellence” in the 2006 Deland Museum of Art Juried Exhibition “Equus” and “Best of Show” and “People’s Choice” Awards in the Kissimmee Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit with a Monumental edition of “Renewal I. In 2006 I was awarded the Sculpture Purchase Award in the Washington State Thoroughbred Breeders & Foundation “ Equine Art 2006” Exhibit. In 2007 I was invited to be the Honorary Steward for the Equine Art Race at Emerald Downs Racetrack, Auburn , WA to present her sculpture “Race the Wind” to the owners of the winning horse in the race dedicated to the “Equine Art Exhibit”. In 2006 I was juried into American Art Collector Series Southeast 2006 edition and received First Place in Sculpture in Best of Florida Artists & Artisan 2006. She has created three large outdoor sculptures two of which where exhibited in the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Outdoor Sculpture Invitational. Her work has been featured in “Horses in Art” , “Horse Capital Digest, Orlando Magazine and O’Arts Magazine, East Orlando Sun and the Orlando Sentinel.
