Katherine Morgan, principle of KMA, Inc., has a long history in multiple artistic fields of expression. Trained formally in the 1960s in fine arts as a concert pianist at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, she was privileged to have studied privately with Harry Franklin (PA), Henry Lowinger (NY) and Olga Heifetz (NY). She became the Senior Arts and Design Editor and feature story writer and assistant photographer with a Latin American Publication in 1990. Subsequently she became an agent for fine artists in 1994
-In her professional capacity as an artists' agent, Ms. Morgan arranged distribution of works to private collectors as well as gallery exhibitions in "ARTSERVE" in Fort Lauderdale, FL, "Eye of the Lizard Gallery" in Vero Beach, FL, and the "Addison Gallery" in Boca Raton, FL, to name a few.
-Sharpening her ability with the camera, Katherine Morgan discovered that her lifelong passion for photography grew into a powerful vehicle for self-expression. She developed this skill as a technical device to record and catalog extensive projects that were created by her former interior design firm.
-Ms Morgan has exhibited her works in the Morikami Museum, Bass Museum, (Miami, FL), Women in the Fine Arts Gallery award for “SORI” (Boca Raton, FL), ARTS 2006 in the Nathan D. Rosen Gallery and Museum (Boca Raton). She won “Faces in our Community” exhibition with “Cooperation” (2005) for the Community Foundation of Palm Beach & Martin Counties competition, National juried exhibition “…untitled” (2006) in the University’s FINE ARTS GALLERY (Fort Lauderdale, FL) and BEST IN SHOW in NEW YORK TIMES “Parallels 2006 Journeys”, INFOCUS opening June 9, 2006 and the Palm Beach Photographic Gallery (Delray Beach, FL). HSHe has placed in the Art Center Sarasota,3rd Annual Photographic Juried exhibition with ...cooperation & ...serenity. The opening is May18. Her work is selected for the Carnegie Mellon University Centennial Exhibition, CFA100, honoring alumni of the College of Fine Arts, and will remain in the Regina Gouger Miller Gallery (PA) for CMU’s celebrated 100 years milestone.
-Her works are published in American Art Collector and Best of Artists in FL 2006, Palm Beach Post, South Florida’s Arts Entertainment News and Carnegie Mellon Quarterly etc.
Morgan was selected for HORTT45 and won "Best in Show" in photography. Two images are appearing in the main exhibition in ARTSERVE in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The opening was June 10, 2006 and the Salon des Refusees presents "...Minor Adjustments". The opening is in ARTSERVE on June 17th as a sister show of the HORTT45. |
