Irina
Kovnacka is a fine artist born in Latvia of Latvian and Russian parents,
and currently residing in Orlando, FL.
The artist holds two Bachelor's Degrees, in World Literature from
Rezekne University and Fine Art from the Art Academy of Latvia. She
has creatively merged these two disciplines by basing her final thesis
on her research of the symbolism and theory of color in literature.
Irina's intrigue with color is her main source of inspiration and
self-expression. Bright, clear and lively tones are characteristic
of her works, demonstrating her perception of the world-full of optimism,
excitement, and discovery. Working mostly with oils, the artist experiments
with different genres, including still life, landscape, portrait,
and nude.
"When I paint, my goal is not to replicate my subject exactly,
but rather to reflect the impressions and moods brought on by the
moment, sometimes exaggerating the colors or shapes of my focus. I
use my artwork as a source of expressing personal perception of the
world and also as a way of communication with a spectator, where colors
serve as words. The value of this dialogue is in its universal language".
Kovnacka is listed in the prestigious MAYER 2000-01 International
Auction Guide. Her unbridled enthusiasm for the rigors and pleasures
of painting is clearly evident in her work, and has been recognized
by collectors worldwide. Her stellar auction sales record has placed
her among the most successful emerging fine artists on the Sotheby's
On Line Auctions since 1999.
Kovnacka's paintings hang in galleries, corporate offices and private
homes both in the USA and Europe. - Irina Kovnacka |
