Over the last ten years, Gary's work has been seen throughout the state of Florida and the Southeastern United States in many exhibits including a 28 painting solo exhibit in the Florida State Capitol Building in 2007. His work won first place in acrylic painting in the "Best Artists and Artisans of Florida 2006", and has appeared on many event posters and announcement postcards throughout the state. He was commissioned to produce the poster image for the Daytona Beach Florida International Festival 2007, and also painted a violin for the Florida Orchestra in Tampa in the spring of 2007. His work appeared on the covers of Natural Awakenings Magazines, at the Thomas Center Annual Juried Regional Exhibitions, in Gainesville, Florida, and the Boca Raton Museum of Art Annual All Florida exhibit in 2007 and 2008. The Florida Museum of Natural History, in Gainesville, featured his work in 2007, in a solo exhibit titled "The Soul of Florida Landscapes". www.flmnh.ufl.edu/galleria/ He also participated in the 2008 "Heart of Florida Plein Air Paintout" in Gainesville, which featured over 40 of Florida's best plein air artists. His paintings have been described as "some of the best and most innovative artwork that has been produced about Florida", to "screaming landscapes" that reflect the energy of the vanishing Florida environment.
