Eleanor Blair paints in oil on canvas in a wide range of sizes, from exquisitely framed miniatures, to pieces as large as 4' x 10' and 6' x 8'. Her work combines visual accuracy with painterly brush work and rich color. She also works with water colors, acrylics and pastels. Florida landscape is her primary subject, but her portraits, still life, interiors and architectural studies demonstrate her fine draftsmanship and sense of light.

I live in Gainesville, Florida, and I paint the world around me. I search for beauty in the natural world and in the everyday things that surround me. I always take my paints with me when I travel. I work primarily in oil, from life and from my photographs.

I love to see the ways light transforms objects and places, and I love to discover new ways to capture that transformation in paint. - Eleanor Blair
