| Classically trained in music as a child in Europe, painting is an extension of my love for creating and expressing, now with vivid colors and shapes. After abandoning the corporate world as a software engineer, I am grateful to be able to pursue my passion for painting and creating with some success. Inspired by nature and music, I usually start out with two or three colors that move me at the moment, then respond spontaneously to the shapes that result. The outcome is always a surprise, sometimes bold, other times sensual, sometimes both. Each painting is like a musical work, with many melodies expressed by layers of color, dark and light. My painting style is loose and flowing, and has been described as Abstract Expressionism. My work has been accepted at various juried Art Exhibits, and is frequently displayed in public spaces (such as Borders Books, City Arts Factory, The Grand Bohemian Hotel Gallery, Women’s Health Center, as well as in one of the offices at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland.). My sold paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S. I am currently a Fellow at the Crealde School of Art, and have taken many workshops with world class artists, both in the United States and in Europe. I am also a board member of the Central Brevard Art Association (WWW.BrevardArt.org) and a member of the Women’s Caucus for Art (WWW.WCAFL.ORG), Artists Registry (www.artistsregistry.com), as well as the Orlando Visual Arts League (www.OVALOrlando.ORG) - Annette Margulies |
